About Mandalas...

Mandala means circle, community, connection. The mandala is a symbol of man/woman in the world. The center of a mandala is the essence and the circumference is grasping, therefore a mandala grasps the essence. This essence is the "heart" and the mandala represents a "body of enlightenment." Thus, the mandala was the most appropriate format for this peace project as it embodies all the elements I have found necessary for successful realization of peace.
