About Jennifer Star
A life-long artist, Jennifer Star is a Creative
Journal Expressive Arts certified instructor, having trained with Dr. Lucia Capacchione,
director of the program, in 2002-2003. She is a facilitator of Visioning® collage
workshops, using the trademarked method developed by Dr.
Capacchione.
Founder and director of the Peace Pie
Mandala Project (PPMP), Star began her peace project in the
fall of 2005. The PPMP went global in 2006 via the world wide
web, and numerous non-profit organizations, women's groups, and
private individuals have since brought the PPMP to their own
communities. These include the Healthy
Mother Earth Foundation in Bali,
Indonesia; QuietStar Center for
Transformation in Los Osos,
California USA; YouthCAN! in Springdale, Arizona USA; The Third
International Women's Peace Conference coordinators council in Dallas, Texas USA; and a
"Making Peace" retreat and ceremony in Brisbane,
Australia.
Supporters of the PPMP include Carol Hansen
Grey, co-founder of the World Peace Experiment (Only
Love Prevails), Stacey Robin,
founder of the Go Gratitude Experiment, and Jean Campbell, founder of the World Dreams Peace Bridge. Public presentations by Star include the 3rd International Women’s Peace Conference in Dallas Texas USA, July 2007, and Rotary
International's Cambria Rotary Club in Cambria California USA, December 2006.
Current projects for the PPMP include the creation of
curriculum for each grade level in elementary schools to meet
the needs of the students and the educational system.
Art, creativity, and manifesting peace have
always been a presence in Star's life. The very foundation of
her peaceful creativity and artistic expression is based on a
spiritual relationship with the earth and universe, and a
desire to share this with others. Star has found that healing
of the body/mind/spirit occurs every time she fills herself up
with 'creative food.' It is then she feels most strongly the
deep peace in her heart.
Star's intention is to encourage others to
take time for their own version of ‘creative food' as she
knows from experience it will aid in overall peace, health and
well-being. Star says, "Focus on your heart center and you
will find the way."
